About us
‘Folkies Music’ grew out of ‘Accordions of London’, a world leading specialist in this family of instruments, in order to fulfil a demand from other musicians at all levels from beginner to professional. You could say it is its younger, more diverse, relative, and maybe even, a little more ‘electrified’. John Leslie
Owner and founder of both ‘Folkies Music’ and ‘Accordions of London’.
John Leslie is an internationally renowned accordionist, composer, and teacher. He has adjudicated at more world championships than any other adjudicator.

We are open from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, with the exception of Thursdays when we stay open until 7pm.
There is easy access to the shop by public transport (we are only a minute away from Kilburn underground station on the Jubilee line) and there are several areas of paid parking in the vicinity if you are visiting us by car.

An “Alladin’s Cave” of musical instruments and accessories on Kilburn High Road, a minute from
Kilburn tube station (on the Jubilee line).
This friendly and helpful community sized little shop is a cornucopia of musical miscellany, ranging from mandolins to zithers via tabla, Telecasters and
Sponge Bob Squarepants shakers.
Whether you are an experienced musician or enthusiastic amateur, Folkies doesn’t disappoint. You’ll find instruments, a repair service, sheet music, amps and even a back room filled with accordions.
